Annie is a 20-year-old ILCA 6 (laser radial) sailor. She has been a member of the RCYC since 2015. She grew up learning how to race through the junior club program, and has spent every summer sailing with her parents on their boat a passion she continues to this day! She started sailing ILCA 6s when she was 14 and has been racing them ever since. She was part of the Ontario Sailing Team from 2019-2023 and has been a member of the Canadian Sailing Development Squad since 2023.
Throughout her youth career, she placed 10th at her first Open Youth World Championships, and she completed 3 ISAF Youth Worlds, 2 of which she placed in the top 12, marking the best result since 2009 at that event. She won a bronze medal at the Canada Summer Games in 2022, and was awarded the Bill Burke Memorial Youth Sailor of the Year Award for 2020, 2021 and 2022! More recently, she placed 15th out of 80 competitors at the 2024 Under 21 World Championships in Viana Do Castelo, Portugal - the best Canadian result in the event’s history.
