Help send the Canadian blind sailing team to Portugal October 1st to 11th for the World Sailing Inclusion Championships

Ginny Duff, Rhys Cashin, Paris Saserman and David Brown have teamed up to represent Canada in their Second World Sailing Inclusion Championships Blind category in Portugal, October 1st - 11th. (After coming third last year in Oman.)

The World Sailing Inclusion Championship brings together sailors of all abilities to compete on a level playing field, celebrating teamwork and inclusion in sport.

The Blind category will be sailed on the RS 21. All boats are crewed by 2 blind sailors and 2 sighted sailors.

To make this campaign a reality, we need your support.   We have budgeted $15,000 to pay for flights, accommodation and event fees for Team Canada

Our team:

Ginny Duff (blind sailor) will be at the helm She is a Silver medalist from the World Blind Sailing Championships (2019) and a  Silver medalist in the US Para-sailing championships (2024).   Winner of The Jarvis Cup in recognition of International Excellence in the Sport of Sailing (RCYC 2024).

Rhys Cashin (19) will be our tactician. He has sailed in the ILCA class for 6 years, winning the LYRA Sailor of the Year, the Ontario Grand Prix, the Fogh Grand Prix also Sail Canada Youth Fest and has extensive experience at national and international regattas, including offshore racing.

David Brown (blind sailor) will be the main sheet trimmer. He is a 5 time medalist in both World Championship Blind Match  and Fleet Racing
regattas.

Paris Sasarman (17) will be the jib trimmer.  He is a two-time Canadian National Champion in the 420 class, known for his composure and tactical precision.

This event is much more than a regatta — it’s a chance to represent Canada, support inclusive sport, and demonstrate the power of teamwork and ability coming together.

We are incredibly grateful for any support you can offer us.
