Background
Jack and Maija started as competitors in the C420 back in 2016, this is when they quickly became friends and close training partners.
In July of 2020 after taking some time away from dinghy sailing to travel and experience other kinds of sailing, they thought it was time to dust off the old wetsuits and get back into it. After spending a month trying out the new partnership and 470 platform, they pulled the trigger and purchased their first 470.
They spent the rest of the 2020 summer in Ontario getting comfortable in their new boat. When fall came around they made the long trek out to Nova Scotia, searching for better training conditions and other 470s to train alongside. They now have big plans for the upcoming years and hope to qualify Canada for the mixed 470 position at the Olympics in 2024 and 2028.
