Max Flinn, from Chester, NS, has a strong background in Optimist sailing and 420 sailing. Max represented Canada many times in his sailing career, most notably at the 2012 ISAF Youth Sailing Worlds in Dublin, Ireland. Max transitioned into the 29er in 2013 after the Youth Worlds, and has a natural feel for skiff since. He is now challenging that natural talent on a foiling Catamaran that literally flies on the water. Max is the skipper, driving the boat around the course.
Allie is an accomplished 470 helmswoman, having represented Canada in many international competitions as skipper, sailing with Allie tenHove. Allie now crews for Max, uses her experience as a helmswoman to anticipate his every move. The crew on a foiling catamaran arguably has more control of the boat than the helmsman given that the direction the boat goes and maintaining "flight" is almost entirely dependent on how the crew uses her weigh and the trim of the sails.
Allie and Max make a great combination.
