We are Heinzemann/Barnes 49er Racing and we are campaigning to represent Canada at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Last summer we represented Canada in the 2019 Pan Am Games in Lima, Peru where we won Canada a bronze medal and qualified 1 of 19 highly sought after country berths for Canada at the 2020 Olympic Games. With a spot confirmed at the 2020 Olympic Games for Canada, we are working hard to win the Canadian trials in order to be the team that represents Canada next summer.
We achieved a major milestone in guaranteeing a country berth for Canada at the Olympics and we are currently preparing for the Canadian trials that have been set by Sail Canada to determine what team will be the Canadian representatives. We want to win the trials and to do so we need to be the top Canadian team at two upcoming events: the 2020 World Championships in Geelong, Australia (February) and the Princess Sofia Regatta in Palma de Mallorca, Spain (March). To be that team, we need to put together the best program possible and are now actively searching for financial contributions to make it possible. We will be committing ourselves full time from now until the Olympics, with the goals of winning the Canadian trials and achieving Canada’s best result ever in the 49er for at the Olympic Games! Any level of support is appreciated and would help us to compete in the trials for the Olympic berth we won for Canada.
